What Does Soreness In The Arm Indicate?

I have a sore on my arm that looks like it might be infected. I may have gotten it by hitting it or? I have Mupirocin in the house. The area around the sore is red and a little puffy. Could be bruise or? Can I sue the ointment tonight. I happen to have a appt. with the doctor tomorrow. Thank you!

Hello,

What you mentioned is because of improper hygiene. Please apply some antibiotic cream like Soframycin, and if you are diabetic, then you need to take a lot of care for making that area dry and free from infection. As you are having localized swelling also so better to start an antibiotic course for five days. Take tablet Ampiclox. If the swelling is large and if the localized collection is present then we may need to drain the pus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah
