What Does Soreness On The Bottom Of The Ribcage Indicate?

I was in a car accident and the left side of my body was slammed against the door and armrest. I was wearing my seatbelt and have perm. Indentations in the top of my left arm and the top of my right thigh, from the top of the door and my seatbelt. About 4 months after I noticed that at the bottom of my ribs on the left side when I lay on my side in bed it feels sore like a broken rib, also if I sit a certain way on the couch it feels like a muscle cramp and I have to sit a different way. Could my spleen have been damaged in the wreck?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

No, this is not due to damaged spleen.
This is due to musculoskeletal injury and healing from injury. Better to consult orthopedic doctor and get done x ray of local area. You should follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in musculoskeletal pain.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Apply warm water pad on affected areas. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside if needed.
3. Sit with proper back support.
4. Avoid sudden jerky movements of back and chest.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
