What Does Soreness On The Left Side Of The Buttocks Indicate?

I m a 56 year old male that s pretty physically active. I have a soreness in the left side of my buttocks that s made worse by walking briskly on the treadmill (especially at an incline) and climbing stairs. I think it might be bursitis, but I m not sure. Looking for guidance and what to do. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

For pain relief, take tablet Ibuprofen, then consult an orthopedic surgeon for proper examination and investigations.

I assume that you did not have any injury or fall in recent past.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
