Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A couple of days ago, I awoke to my bottom lip on the right side, feeling as if a thin string was running through my lip. It feels as if I pulled my lip it would straighten and be fine. It didn’t go away, and it still is here three days later. It is now a little sore from its presence.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query you have symptoms of soreness under the lips which seems to be due to removal of natural layer which causes dryness, sunburn and could be due to vitamin deficiency.
I would suggest you to :-
- Apply lip balm containing SPF 15 to protect the lips from sun exposure. - Avoid licking area below lips.
- Avoid dry environment and drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to keep yourself hydrated .
- Take vitamin B complex daily.
If condition doesn't get better in 7-10 day then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation. Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment or antibiotics .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes!
