What Does Spina Bifida S1 In X Ray Mean?

I just got my xray back and it says that i have spina bifida S1.

i am 31 y/o female, i have been complaining about lower back pains that is why my doctor advised me to have it xrayed. pls explain i do not understand what spina bifida s1 means.thank you

Spina bifida S1 is a developmental congenital disorder caused by the incomplete closing of the embryonic neural tube.
Some vertebrae overlying the spinal cord are not fully formed and remain unfused and open.
There are many types of spina bifida and most common is spina bifida occulta.It may be incidental finding in X-rays.
It may be the reason for back pain.You should consult orthopedician.
