What Does Spotting After Unprotected Sex Indicate?

Hey...I had my last on 30july-5 Aug and had unprotected sex on 9 and today morning I saw it was bleeding and its nt spotting or light bleeding its like when u r on ur third day of periods so is it the sign of implantation bleeding as my ovulation period has started I guess so frm 12 that means today...pls explain I m worried

Hi and thanks for sharing your concern with us on HCM.

The bleeding could be anything from an implantation bleed to a delayed period. From the dates you have provided, assuming that you have a regular 28 -30 day menstrual cycle, you seem to be 7 to 8 weeks late (last period 30 July).

The best way to confirm is to either do a home pregnancy urine test (not very accurate but convenient and cheap) or to go to your regular doctor and have him or her perform a blood test for serum beta HCG levels - this is the most accurate way to determine if you are pregnant or not.
