Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does String Like White Things In Stools Indicate?
I keep getting these small string like white things in my stools. It was not moving. The sometimes look like very thin shedded skin. Sometimes they are bigger and look like soggy wet paper noodles. They always appear on the sides of the feces. I suspect these are dying parasites in my bile ducts that are being killed and then forced out by the bile. Any ideas of what this is
White strings like things in stool could be a number of things like mucus or undigested food or parasites (worms). I think that the first 2 are not that of much concern, but parasites should be treated. In my opinion, i would definitely suggest you to get stool test for ova and stool microscopy done, so once the parasite is identified, it could be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
