Prominent broncho-vascular markings are seen in the rest of the lung field. LUNG PARENCHYMA - Incomplete consolidation is seen in the sub plural region of the right upper lobe posteriorly.Subsegmental atelectasis is seen in the right middle lobe. A nodular lesion (Density 60HU) is also seen in the left lower lobe posteriorly with eccenteric cavitation. Kindly suggest what does it mean and what is the treatment.

What Does Subsegmental Atelectasis Mean?
Hi, Thanks for writing in to us. Let me explain CT thorax report in details There is mention of a possible mild collapse of the right lung middle lobe. There is also an area of pneumonia in right lung upper lobe. The left lower lobe shows presence of a small rounded area with a cavity formation. Findings in the CT scan need to be correlated with his clinical symptoms which may be likely that of pneumonia.
