What Does Sudden Pain In The Hips And Shoulder Joints Indicate?

3 weeks ago i had sudden pain in hip and shoulder joints not associated with exercise or trauma. After one week I went to doctor and they prescribed prednisone thinking it may be PMR. I took 15mg a day starting May 7th but did not get any relief. Pain worst in the morning or if sitting for a while. It is painful to walk down the hall to get water. I m 60 year old in male in good physical condition.
