What Does Sudden Pain In The Thumb Joints Indicate?

have sudden hand pain in the joint where my thumb connects to my hand went to ER said to put ice stablize the thumb but exercise it often. well the biggest problem is my joint on the end of my finger hurts so bad if i bend the end joint it gets stuck and hurts bad until i take my other hand and staighten it . wow its hurts pretty bad hate to take meds. problem is it just started about 3 weeks ago and is no better actually a little worse. i know i can grip nothing with my hand so what kind of doctor do i need?

In my opinion, you should definitely consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination of thumb and x ray (and MRI if needed) of thumb. Since your pain is not improving rather worsening, we need to rule out hairline fracture. So consult orthopedic doctor and discuss all these.
