What Does Suspicious Bilateral Upper Lung Densities On Chest X Ray Mean?

Good morning. May I ask what does this mean...I just got the result of my chest X ray and the result is this: Suspicious hazy and streaky densities seen in both upper lung fields. The rest of the lungs are clear. Tracheal air column is at the midline. The heart is not enlarged. Both hemidiaphragms and costophrenic sulci are intact. The rest of the included structures are unremarkable. IMPRESSION: Suspcious Bilateral Upper Lung Densities. ALV study suggested. Thank you...

Hi,

I have gone through your query.
Your report suggests densities in upper part of both the lungs. These could be due to infection ( bacteria , virus , fungus ) , scarring form old infections , thickening of the pleura, cancer.
At this stage diagnosis cannot be made. you will require clinical examination with some more investigations like Sputum examination for Tuberculosis and CT scan. Consult a pulmonologist for further evaluation.

Do consider a positive feedback as a credit to my work. Let me know if you have any further questions.
