HI...CAN YOU HELP ME? My findings : suspeciuos opacities are seen in the right lung apex . the heart is not enlargement . the trachea is midline . the costophrenic sulci and hemidiaphragms are intact . the osseous structures and soft are unremarkable .INTERPRETATION: AN APILOLORDOTIC VIEW IS SUGGESTED FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Right apical soft tissue density can be due to 1. Active TB lesion. 2. Old healed TB scar. 3. Pneumonia. 4. Lung malignancy. Apex of lung are favourable site for bacteria especially TB bacilli as apex is having more oxygen and these bacteria needs oxygen for growth. So infection should be rule out first. In normal chest x ray most of the apex is hidden behind clavicle and upper ribs. So proper imaging is not possible. So for better imaging of apex we need Apicolordotic view. So no need to worry. Go for this. If this is also inconclusive go for CT thorax. This will answer all your questions.
