Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Ive previously been diagnosed with IBS sometimes severe but my symptoms are a little different right now and Ive suddenly developed a swelling around my rib cage today on the right side. About the size of an elongated chicken egg. To some degree Im sick almost everyday but yesterday I vomited nothing but clear and had diarrhea long enough for it to become basically bile(yellow fluid). My mother had to have her gall bladder removed many years ago because she had a stone (one) the size of a pecan. Do you think this is whats happening to me? Also I felt like I had a fever with chills but no thermometer so not sure about that but Im (as my mom would say) weak as rain water ...Also how concerned should I be? Im 50 years old.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to see a doctor as soon as possible. It is most likely the gallbladder that is swollen and if you try to breath your inspiration gets blocked half way. The inflammation of the gallbladder can cause that. It could also be an abscess in the liver but most likely is inflammation of gallbladder.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
