What Does Swelling In The Armpit Area?

Over the past two months, I have had a gradual swelling in my underarm / armpit area, both sides and I am curious whether this is something to get looked into with my doctor. The swellings are tender if pressed ( I was checking for lumps) but the swelling is just tender. Please advise.

Hello,

Swelling can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include muscle injury, prolonged standing or eating large amounts of salt.

Lymph is a fluid that helps fight infections. There's a concentration of lymph nodes near the armpit on both sides of the body.

Your lymph nodes may become swollen and tender if you have a cold or the flu. In any case, you should consult your doctor for diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
