What Does Swelling In The Elbow Indicate?

my husband had a believed spider bite almost two months ago. He iced it-not regular, but a few times. the swelling has gone down, but his elbow has noticable swelling still. He went to his regular annual physical about one month ago, with all of his lab work being excellent. they told him to ice down his elbow for a few days. It is still swelled.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Where is the swelling? Is there any pain?

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use antihistamins, anti chymotrypsin.

Use compression bandage, check for spider bite.

If symptoms not improved please consult your physician/dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
