What Does Swelling In The Finger Indicate?

I ve been in A car accident this was may this year there was a big chunk of glass in side left third finger of knuckle was removed in A&E. I am now having physio as the finger is stiff but after 4th session there has. been No improvement. Now I find I go for walks to improve circulation but it goes purple red and still swollen what could this. be ?

Consult a orthopaedic doctors for further diagnosis.
Proper clinical examination of fingure give exact idea about problems.
