Hello
Rheumatoid arthritis still an important cause of finger
stiffness, but it's not always the cause, there are another causes like Dupuytren's Contracture which is the presence of
scars in a structure around the muscle and nerves of hand called palmar fascia .
The other frequent cause is
Trigger Finger which is the blocking of a nodule existing in the tendon of finger against an envelope around that tendon .
Returning to Rheumatoid Arthritis , arthritis is a frequent cause but in most of cases the diagnosis in early stage is difficult , usually symptoms appear in same joints in both hands like you have, than same symptoms will appear in a bigger joints like ankle and knees, than there are some other symptoms outside the joints like eye ,skin, heart symptoms .
The treatment changes according to the cause .
Absolutely you need a thorough examination by an orthopedic specialist to make the right diagnosis and to have the right treatment.
Hope I answered your question
Wish you a speedy recovery
Best regards
