What Does Swelling In The Left Ankle And Knee Indicate?

I have recently been attending a fitness class twice a week since January. The exercises are designed to develop strength, good balance, and better movement which I feel is very important to me. I am 86. I have noticed that the last two days my left ankle to my knee has appeared swollen. Ido take a Beta blocker, and aspirin, and blood pressure medication. My breathing has improved greatly as has my posture. I do wear a heart monitor during my exercise session. Can you suggest what might be the problem please? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Symptoms are suggestive of age-related degeneration and inflammation in knee and ankle joint. If your exercise included treadmill or cycling then avoid it. Take tablet Diclofenac plus Serratiopeptidase. Tablet calcium every day and tablet vitamin D3 weekly. Also, consult an orthopedic doctor to rule out other causes like rheumatoid arthritis or meniscus injuries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
