I have swelling in my left leg I was referred to have Ultrasound done at Alpine $urgical they referred me to have a CAT scan of my pelvis and abdomen , before I could get my appointment Medicade cancelled me because I make to much money . I want to know what they were going to scan me for so that I know what to request since I am on CICP.I am thinking a Hysterectimy ?
** Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after going through history, I've following opinion regarding your symptom;
1. going by your symptoms [swelling in leg], you need urgent medical evaluation since it could be a blood clot [DVT- deep vein thrombosis] which has to be immediately excluded [reason for CAT scan], so seek immediate medical intervention [vascular surgeon opinion] or visit an ER.
PS. Ask for doppler study [since the clot could break free and travel up to the lungs to cause fatal embolism]
2. The symptoms have to be carefully assessed by your doctor to ensure that whether it requires immediate medical attention or long-term therapy.
