What Does Swelling In The Left Lower Leg After An Injury Indicate?

Hi, I slipped and fell several weeks ago hitting my front lower left leg on a piece of metal. Of course it bruised and was swollen. The bruising cleared up but it is still very painful to the touch and My left leg swells up during the day every day. Is that cause for concern?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking. I understand your concern.
The persistance of pain &swellung in leg suggests possibility of bone injury in form of fracture ( hair line/tear of ligament) ....
To avoid chronic pain &deformity... you should get it examined & investigated (imaging investigation like x ray/MRI ) as advised.. to find exact cause followed by specific management.
Thanks.
