What Does Swelling In The Legs Be Treated?

I have a herniated disc, L4-5 and has been causing a lot of sharp pain when I get up in the morning. So, I have for about 3 weeks, been sleeping sitting up. I now have swollen legs from the knee down and also on ankles and tops of feet. The skin is red and hard. Is this because I sleep sitting up? What should I do, it is now becoming a consistent hurt and is hard to walk.

Hello
The best that you can do is to elevate your legs. Your legs are swollen because intravascular fluid has exited your veins and went under your skin and caused edema. However, you should consider DVT and refer to a doctor.
