General Surgeon 's  Response
Cardiac problems and medication for such ailment, both can lead to leg swelling. The best method to avoid the swelling, is to apply graduated compression soft roll with crepe bandage from toes to knees, in the morning, when the swelling is minimal. The bandage should be wrapped firmly at the toes, and as you wrap it towards the knees, it should be slowly less tighter. Alternate is to wear grade 2 compression stockings toes to knees in the mornings, and take them off at night while going to sleep. She should keep her feet up on a chair or so while in a seated position.
