What Does Swelling In The Legs Indicate?

My Dad has cancer. His legs are swelling up and moisture is coming out of his feet. I know to put compression socks on him, but is this a stage of liver cancer causing his feet to do this? If so, what other stages of this cancer can I expect? My Dad is on Hospice already . Never mind .... Thought this was a Free site. Webmd was what I thought I was on.
