What Does Swelling In The Legs Indicate?

At 7-8 I got epilepsy and would throw up with some foods. I kept gaining weight and at 40 blood pressure pills. In the meantime my legs swelled up from taking tegretol and for 20 years it was lymphedema. Then 4 years ago I had a blood clot in my bad leg. The test for lymphedema was negative now, it was DVT. Now 4 months ago another blood clot, the other leg. Now I m also on thyroid medicine for 2 years and a blood thinner 4 months. My legs are still swollen and I can barely move. I just saw a story on TV that sounds similar to me, but I m not sure. I m also prediabetic now. A 6.1 A1C. I looked up amyloidosis.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As far as my clinical experience is concerned, the swelling of legs is due to residual effects of past DVT.
* Certain postural measures, elastocrepe bandage support and exercises help to feel better and recover faster.

Do give me further chance to assist in future.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
