Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter was intubated in May for 3 days due to a swollen tongue that would not go down even with epi, Benadryl and solumedrol. She had an Orencia infusion for arthritis 3 days prior. Since then she gets a swollen tongue once or twice a week. She was tested for HAE which was negative and the C1 inhibitor they tried during an episode didn t work. She stayed on the Orencia until just recently because her immunologist felt it was unrelated. We have found that Advil works. The tongue swelling is random- sometimes she wakes up with it and sometimes it starts during the day or evening.
