Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Swelling In The Wrists And Fingers Indicate?
My fiancée just had open reduction surgery on her left wrist for both ulna and radius. At 3 weeks post-op, she has swelling in the wrist and fingers and red areas on her skin over the area where the two bones attach to the wrist. Her pain level has not diminished. She also still cannot make a fist.
Maybe she is having carpal tunnel syndrome. Because of the pressure inside the wrist due to surgery and the tight band of flexor retinaculum infection would have spread and wrist would have been swollen.
Kindly get her examined with orthopedic and get anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
