Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have swelling on one side of my face under my eye and cheek. My doctor has ruled out sinus infection, and my ENT diagnosed my with Lyphedema. I had nasopharyngeal cancer over 20 years ago with chemo and radiation to my head and neck. When I went to a Lyphedema therapist she said the swelling doesn t look or feel like Lyphedema and another Head and Neck surgeon I went to said he didn t think it was Lymphedema either. I ve had CT scans, MRIs, and I m waiting on a blood test to check my thyroid hormone levels. Do you have any idea what this could be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling on the face can be due to obstruction in the duct of the salivary gland due to either foreign body obstructing the salivary gland or stone formation in the gland. The symptoms can also occur due to condition like sinusitis. Take steam twice a day to relieve inflammation. Other cause can be allergic reaction to any food that you recently consumed. So it is advisable to consult general physician and get evaluated. In case of allergic reaction, anti-allergics can help in improvement.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
