What Does Swelling On The Left Side Of The Face Indicate?

Hi, I am experiencing swelling on the left side of my face. There is definitely a hardness in the area outside my nose probably from the lower bridge to my left nostril. I have been on two doses of antibiotics and am right where I started. I am in a great deal of pain. I’ve never had a sinus infection cause a boil of whatever this is.

Hello,

As per your query, you have symptoms of swelling on the left side of the face which seems to be due to infection in anterior tooth region leading to formation of cyst/abscess.

I would suggest you to consult oral and maxillofacial surgeon once for proper diagnosis and get x-ray on front tooth region done and rule out condition like trigeminal neuropathy and start treatment accordingly.

Maintain complete hygiene; take combination of anti-inflammatory medications along with proper course of antibiotics to subside infection. Till now, start doing exercises of facial muscles.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
