Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Swelling Under The Eyes And Cheekbones Indicate?
I ve had swelling under my eyes in the cheekbone area for the past 8 weeks. I ve seen my physician, an allergist and two Derms. They do not have an answer to my symptoms. I ve taken antihistamines, allergy meds and prednisone. With no changes. I m very frustrated at this point.
As per your query, you have symptoms of swelling under the eyes and cheekbones which is due to deprivation of sleep, water retention and could be due to excessive exposure to sun and fatigue.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing benzoyl peroxide twice a day. Apply vitamin E oil before going to bed and keep cucumber pieces on eyes for 15 minutes daily.
Also, apply cream containing azelaic acid which is a cereal extract and totally safe for use. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
