What Does Swollen, Burning, Bruised Area Below Left Knee Suggest?
I have an area right below my left knee that is slightly puffy. It burns a lot & there is a small bruise in the center of it. I had an X-ray a week age this last Monday & an Mir a week ago today, which showed normal. I can walk on that leg now but it really burns.
You have swelling below the knee. Your X-ray and MRI shows normal report. Presently you are experiencing bruise and burning on the affected knee. You can apply ointment Soframycin or ointment Neosporin on the affected knee to ease discomfort.
Such symptoms may be indicative of trauma, overuse injuries, arthritis, baker's cyst, bursitis, or any underlying disease. You are suggested to get clinically examined. Get blood analysis done. If cysts is detected it will be treated (conservative, excision or surgery) accordingly. If arthritis is detected you will be given conservative treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
