Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a CT scan that showed a 8mm hyperdense focus at the distal vaginal canal at the level of the pubic symphysis. Stating could be a Bartholin gland cyst containing proteinaceous or hemorrhagic debris. Also stated that direct visualazation may be helpful for further evaluation. what would direct visualization be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Bartholin gland cyst is formed by obstruction of Bartholin duct and accumulation of secretions within the cyst. Bartholin gland cyst is painful and its treatment consists of a course of antibiotics and deroofing of the cyst by incision drainage. You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
