What Does The CT Scan Report Indicate?

I am 65 yrs of age & I recently had a TIA my CT scan report says small elongated infarct in left putamen & my Neuro Medicine Dr. has suggested to take me these medicines : Gabapin 100 mg, Eliwel 10 mg, Asomex 5 mg, Atocor 10mg. However when I take these at night I m unable to get up from bed in the morning as I fell dizzy & tired. I ve reported the same to my Dr. & he had said that its nothing to worry about. This prompted me to ask my family physician about the same he then changed the meds & gave me these: Amlodac 5 mg, Stator 10 mg, Normabrain 800, Rejunex CD3. I also took the same however now after taking the meds given by my family physician I m unable to sleep at night. Please suggest what to do & whose meds to intake. Now about me I m diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (which has come down a bit after taking the medicines previously given by my family physician) & I ve high BP 150/80 (which has now come down to 130/65 after taking the medicines by my family physician) & I ve hypertension & my family members have a complain about me that I m very quick to anger.

Hi,

Two of the drugs prescribed by both doctors are same which are Asomex / Amlodac and Atocor / stator. Though Gabapin may cause dizziness and tiredness but usually these side effects go by themselves after some time. As you are complaining insomnia after stopping Eliwel, so it may be needed. Addition of Normabrain may be fine to increase the blood supply in the ischemic areas of brain.

So, in my opinion, you may add Normabrain, delete Gabapin and rest all the drugs advised by your neuro physician may be continued. Also, in case of hyperthyroidism the medicine of B.P. may also be changed to some betablocker like Atenolol, Metoprolol or Nabevilol etc. in place of Asomex / Amlodac. This may ease your problem of irritability, restlessness insomnia and quick anger also.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
