HI I am 32 year Old, my LFT reports as follow Billirubin (Total) : 0.8 mg/dl Bilirubin (Direct): 0.12 mg/dl SGPT (ALT) 91 IU/L SGOT (AST) 48 IU/L Alkaline Phosphatase : 101 IU/L Proteins : 7.4 g/dl Albumin : 4.2 g/dl Globulin : 3.2 g/dl A.G.Ratio : 1.3 and in the scanning report little bit fatty liver please advice me Regards S.K.Nair
Increased ALT may indicate liver injury. It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis, alcohol intake, altered lipid profile, auto immune causes etc.
You may need few more investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, lipid profile, renal function test, complete liver function test, viral markers. I suggest tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months to my patients. It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
Avoid alcohol if you take it. Fatty liver is a reversible condition. You should increase your physical activity and avoid fried, fatty food.
Get well soon. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
