Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 8 yr old grandson has burkits lymphoma. He went for a stomach xray and all was fine there but they saw something on his back and sent him for an mri. the results of the mri was spinal bifada, his last veterbrae has a hairline opening. I am asking how this will affect him. will this opening close in time, what are the long time affects of this. His dream at this point is to play football. Will this make him more prone to back injuries?

What Does The MRI Report Indicate?
Hello, His back isn’t that strong to bear injuries, you should consult a spine specialist for further care and guidance. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
