I was diagnosed AA when I was 18 years old. I got married with and my wife is AS. We found out later that our kid is SC. I did another test which turned to be AS. Please is it possible for AS and AS to have a child of SC. Am really confused and want to know if the child will experience any crises later. Thanks

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
No! IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE for AS and AS to have a child of SC UNTIL AND UNLESS SOME SOMATIC MUTATION OCCURS TO YOUR CHILD; Therefore correct report is AS for your child. no need to worry...
Not to worry but please consult a genetic counsellor or repeat you tests when the child is more than 6 years old!
all the best!
