What Does The Blood Test Report Of A Polycythemia Vera Patient Indicate?

Hi!! I am patient of Polycythemia Vera and was detected about 4 years ago. Mostly I have been concerned by Hb and HCT levels more than anything else in CBC reports. However in my recent blood test report, lymphocites count was low at 17.5 % and RDW was high around 19.6%. Is it something to worry about?

Hi,

Based on the report you have shared, this slight variation in the CBC report is nothing to worry about.

However, get the blood tests to repeat and if the lymphocyte count is still low then get GP consult to rule out any infection and possible complication og Polycythemia rubra vera.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
