Hi I just got my 5.2 year old son's blood test report and the result SMSed me is HB: 11.70, WBC:4,300, PLATELET: 1.54, MAL.PA.-P.VIVAX wIDAL-NEGATIVE SGPT-51.90.and doc prescribes RezQ and told me to admit.. although my son is not so much dull he is looking ok and playin now.. so is it necessary to admit him now??CAN YOU PLZ TELL me what to do

Hi As per the blood examination report, your son is having malaria. His platelet count is on the lower end of normal, in malaria platelets decrease and if not followed up might cause bleeding manifestations. Also the hemoglobin is low for his age. SGPT is raised, which is of concern. It would be better to keep him in observation until the counts improve, fever settles. Regards
