Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, i has my bood test done recently. The results come back with all the renal and liver function normal. But i have Hg count with 105 (i have thal trait) and ESR 61. I noticed that my ESR result is far higher from normal range. However, i have enzyma and having some anti-itchy and allergy medication during the period of blood taking. Besides that, i have also having H1N1 flu vaccine one week before the blood taking. I am quite worry about the high level of my ESR. Did my ESR value show any significant finding? Thanks
insufficient data. You did not mention your age and gender.
if your female and aged more than 50 , then ESR is elevated as compared to normal middle age subjects.
Elevated ESR is not specific for any disease. however, if you have joint pain or gastrointestinal symptoms , then further investigation according to symptoms is advised.
hope to answer your concern.
regards Dr Malik
