What Does The Blood Test With Type H 1:160 And Type O 1:80 Indicate?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...Just a quick question. I had Typhoid Fever six months ago and was treated with antibiotics both oral and injections. I just had a blood test done and it came back positive Type H 1:160 and positive Type O 1:80. I am in Mexico and the doctor here said that it is not any problem as the levels are really low. I have been feeling super weak for the last few weeks and had my blood pressure taken this morning and it was 90/60. I am a very active person and usually it is 115/80 I am a 48 yr male. Should I seek further treatment?? Thanks
Hello and welcome to HCM, The test which you have under gone is called Widal test and it is done for typhoid fever. The test detects antibodies against H and O antigen of Salmonalla typhi- causative agent for typhoid fever. The titres of 1:80 and above are suggestive of typhoid fever. The test is giving results of 1;80 and above. The test result shows presence of typhoid infection. However, you have already taken antibiotic and the test usually comes to be negative after antibiotic course. However, I would suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider. Blood pressure shows diurnal variation, postural variation etc.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
