Term loose bones, denotes to reduced bone density. It can lead to osteopenia or osteoporosis. There are no particular symptoms, to recognize happening of reduced bone density. Only a bone scan can diagnose the loose bones. There are numerous causes of bone loss. Bone loss in women occurs faster during first few years after menopause, though this loss continues with aging, but at a lower pace. Other causes may be low calcium diet, lack of exercise, smoking and use of certain medicines like corticosteroids. Treatment consists of treatment of the cause of the condition.
