My 42 year old daughter had a kidney transplant 7 years ago. She got really sick and is in the hospital. Vomiting blood and not very coherent. Her crenation level is 3.5. Is she in danger of loosing her kidney? She is a diabetic since 14 years old.
Hello, Although a slightly higher creatine level is expected post kidney transplant but a level of 3.5 is definitely high and it could be due to various reasons like organ rejection, kidney damage due to uncontrolled blood pressure, high intake of meat or alcohol or some associated systemic infection like tuberculosis etc. She must be properly investigated to find the cause for high creatine levels. If not taken care of properly, then there is definitely chance of her loosing kidney again as this is quite common occurrence. Thanks
