What Does The Fecal Analysis Of A 4 Year Old Mean?
My 4 year old sistes has diarrhes since yesterday, so i decided to take her stool for Fecalysis. The result is as follows: Consistency: Mucoid. Colo: Brown. RBC: 1 - 3/HPF. WBC: 16 - 18/HPF. BACTERIA: 3+. NO OVA/PARASITE SEEN. What does this mean? Thank you.
Your sister's report suggest bacterial infection in intestine. It is suggested by pus cells, bacteria,RBC etc in stool.Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells, bacteria in stool. She need culture of stool so that proper medicines can be prescribed. She may be given broad spectrum antibiotics empirically. It is good that there is no egg or parasite in stool.
Hope i have answered your query. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
