Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood work came back with BUN at 34 and the creatinine, ser is 1.40: I keep hearing the doctor say there is a problem with the kidney, but no one will explain exactly what that means except I need to see a nephrologist with an appointment 2 months away. What are these numbers telling the doctor?
Normal level of BUN is 7-20 mg/dl and that of serum creat. is 0.8-1.4 in adult person. Your S. creat is normal but BUN is raised. As kidney function decreases BUN level rises.
