What does the following CT result indicate? "There is abnormal groundglass soft tissue attenuation within the superior mediastinum extending from the level of the prevascular space to the thoracic inlet just below the inferior poles of the thyroid gland. This surrounds the proximal great vessels and the distal cervical and upper thoracic trachea. This is of indeterminate etiology. It may represent lymphoid tissue."

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.the features of the Ct suggest that there is a mass lesion occupying the mediastenum.
2.The mass seen extending from the vascular area below the thoracic inlet on the other end up to the thyroid gland.
3.The possible cause could be lymphadenopathy.
4.An FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology will be helpful to get definitive diagnosis.
5.Depending on the extensions treatment depends either excision or conservative treatment. Good luck.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
