I had CT that revealed a cyst on my kidney. According to this report, is this something I should be concerned about? 1. No acute intra-abdominal or pelvic process. 2. Small hiatal hernia and postsurgical change consistent with fundoplication. 3. Levoscoliosis of lumbar spine. 4. 7 cm cyst in the lower poles Comparison: None available. History: Epigastric pain. 39-year-old woman with epigastric abdomen pain. Patient has had prior appendectomy, fundoplication surgery, and removal of an ovary. Technique: Following IV administration of 100 cc of Omnipaque 350 contrast helical tomographic images of the abdomen and pelvis were acquired. Delayed images were acquired. Sagittal and coronal reconstructions were created. Findings: The demonstrated lower lungs are clear. The heart size is normal. No focal lesion is seen within the liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, adrenal glands, or renal parenchyma other than a subcentimeter cyst in the right kidney. On the delayed imaging normal excretion of contrast is seen in the renal collecting systems and ureters without evidence of obstruction. A subcentimeter cyst is seen in the inferior pole left kidney. On the coronal reconstructed imaging levoscoliosis of lumbar spine is noted. On the sagittal reconstructed imaging posterior vertebral body alignment is maintained.
