What Does The Following CT Scan Findings Indicate?
I recently was in the ER and had a CT scan done of my head and neck. ITheir findings were Right spheniod sinus circumferential mucosal thickening with bubbly secretions. Mastoid air cells are clear. Right TMJ degenerative change. Their conclusion was RIght sphenoid disease, containing bubbly secretions. Empty Sella, nonspecific, raises the possibility of idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Right TMJ degenerative change.
Since there were no brain abnormalities mentioned in your CT Report so hopefully there is no major problem related to your brain. However, there appears to be incidental findings like inflammation of the Sphenoid sinus ( Sinusitis). The degenerative changes of the tempero mandibular joint (TMJ) are only significant if accompanied by pain, restriction of jaw movement or any odd clicking any odd clicking/ popping sound while chewing.
I would recommend clinical assessment by your local ENT specialist, especially for treatment of sinusitis.
I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
