What is the meaning of this report? My mother-in-law is in the carribean and to get answers may take weeks. I also want a second opinion the full report of the CT :
EXAMINATION: CT SCAN OF THE RIGHT SHOULDER WITHOUT IV CONTRAST.
Technique: Thin sliced axial tomographic images of the right shoulder were obtained without intravenous contrast.
Findings:
CT images show increased of the soft tissue at level of the right shoulder. diffused signs of osteoporosis are seen. There is deformity of the right head of the humerus. osteolytic lesion in antero lateral aspect of the right head of the humerus is noted.
1.The report suggest there is a lytic / hypo-dense lesion seen in the head of the humerus. 2.There are reduced densities noted in the visualised bone - suggest the possibilities of osteoporosis. 3.Osteoporosis is seen in the non usage of the joint for a significant time period. 4.In this case i would recommend to get a contrast CT / MRI to evaluate the nature of the lesion and its extensions to the soft tissue and enhancement. 5.A biopsy will be confirmatory for assessment of the nature of the cells involved in the process.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
