Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On CT scan showed vague 9mm subsolid ground glass, 4mm W/vessels? and solid 3mm ground glass, and possible scarring Dr said follow up in 3months to check for persistence - is it advisable to get a 2nd opinion or is this the normal route? What is the protocol at 3months if still there - or what should I expect? Thank you!
Your findings are incidental ones and findings are most probably due to benign reason. You shouldn't worry. However, it is necessary to go for a follow-up scan to detect any increase in the size of nodules.
Nodules in your case may be the sequel of past infection. Infection heals by fibrosis, scar in natural course. However, it may be due to a variety of reasons like inflammation etc.
Ground-glass opacity is the term used in CT scan and it is nonspecific increased opacity of the lung.
It is not clear why it requires correlation with espophagus. There may be some spelling mistake. Please check it from the reports and let me know.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
