What Does The Following CT Scan Report Suggest?

Hello I had a ct scan and was wondering what a portion of the findings mean. There is linear high density along the posterior falx in the midline with maximum thickness of approximately 3mm. Extensive artifact in the posterior fossa is present. Hi density is noted about the region of the midbrain which is likely artifactual. Impression Linear area of increased density along the falx posteriorly. this may be owing to asymmetric area of hemorrhage cannot be excluded. additionally , there is extensive artifact at the level of the posterior fossa and midbrain, area of asymmetric high density is noted about the midbrain likely artifactual.

Hello,

High density along the posterior falx in the midline with a maximum thickness of approximately 3mm may be due to calcification of Falx cerebri itself. CT brain misses many things and may also be misleading.

In view of many artefacts reported, go for MRI Brain(plain), if there is no contra-indication otherwise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
