Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a ct screening for calcium and they found : Visualized lungs show a sub-4 mm groundglass opacity in the right upper lobe. No pleural effusions. No adenopathy identified. The imaged osseous structures are unremarkable. The report said no follow up was required but I am concerned since I have a thyroid nodule which has just been biopsied and the result is that there is a suspicion of papilloma thyroid cancer Is is possible that the ground class opacity is an indication of thyroid metasis to the lungs?
yes. it is an indication of metastasis of lungs. u should go for a detailed scanning along with the dexa scan or pet ct scan of whole body to rule out the mets. also the histopathology report of your previous thyroid surgery needed.
